I think I want this dress! (Thanks to Lee for forwarding an email that featured it!)
I'm a little nervous about ordering a dress online, but returns are accepted. However, they're only accepted for 14 days, so I wouldn't be able to hang on to this for a while and see if I find something better. I would either have to go with it, or send it back. This makes me nervous because the wedding is still so far away, and what if I find something I like even more in six months from now? But then again, I might regret not buying this while it's available.
There are likely some alterations that would need to be done:
I would have the lining at the neckline altered so that it doesn't show, so there's just the deep V of lace.
The lining is shorter than the length of the dress, so unless it turns out I like it that way, I would have the lining lengthened. Maybe all new lining put in, something a little nicer than jersey. I'm not a seamstress, but these seem like fairly simple alterations.What do you guys think? Am I jumping the gun? Am I robbing myself of the experience of going dress shopping?

ReplyDeleteI ordered mine online and then had to take it to the bridal shop for alterations anyways, so I still got the experience of standing on the pedestal in the big bridal room and having people ooh and ahh! So that might still give you the total experience. And then I tried on various veils there too, which helped.
